KC Masterpiece, Baby!
After Denver, we headed out to conquer the giant open space that is Kansas. We put in what can only be described as many, many, many miles to try and make our way to the land of flying monkeys and little dogs, too.
On the way, stopped in Lawrence, KS, where we experienced some techy culture shock as we tried to, well, do this only to find the Internet "connectivity" to be an issue. First we tried at this funky little coffee shop called Henry's, and then at the FedEx Kinkos, but the stars were not aligned correctly, so we wandered on towards Kansas City. (I have been instructed to share with the readers that Lawrence actually is a wonderful place and the Internet issues may have been an aberration and should not be considered indicative of any long-term issues the town may or may not have.)
But not before stopping for our first Midwest Salad, complete with bacon and cheese and honey-mustard dressing that looked a bit like yellow glue...
After that, James just kept muttering something about getting closer to his power source...
I gotta say...a gnome could feel at home in Kansas City (KS or MO!). We saw some schools, saw some homes, and got our grub on at the KC Masterpiece up the street from our hotel.
After a good night of grubbin', we headed out into the world, valiant warriors armed with our BooBerry cereal and wannabe-Nerf football and started out on the road again.
The adventures are virtually never ending...
