Cool Camping
Boom! What's happenin'?!
The trip to Salt Lake City took us about two days, which left us with lots of time for me to check out the gnomettes at the camp sites along the way.
First, we stopped in Rupert, ID, at the Lake Walcott State Park/Minidoka Dam Wildlife Refuge Area. It may not have been lions and tigers and bears (oh my!), but it was owls and porcupines and pelicans, and they were pretty damn cool.
And James did have his own certain wildlife run-in, I suppose.
It was, by all accounts, a really cool place, especially for being out in the middle of absolute nowhere!
And I got to go out on the ol' H20 for a bit, too.
I'm definitely an aqua-lovin' gnome, y'all, though I gotta say there was a bit o' something funny about the water there...
After leaving Idaho, and its wildfires...
...the three of us heading down towards Salt Lake City. We couldn't help but stop, though, at the most charming place: Cherry Hill Camping Resort.
We could not have asked for a more family-friendly-yet-totally-cool place to spend the day.
The Lazy River
The Batting Cages (SO COOL!)
The Miniature Golf, which James won, though only by two strokes.
And, after breakfast the next morning, which consisted of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, lucky charms and OJ, we got back on the road for the last few miles to Salt Lake.
This is one happy traveling gnome.
